WE LOVE THIS FLASK. Let us count the reasons why…
1. It comes in a leather sheath.
2. It’s made in England.
3. It has 2 caps for extra protection from spills.
4. It still smells like whiskey.
5. This flask beats all other flasks.
6. It makes any liquor it holds VERY CLASSY, even Canadian Mist.
7. The owner of this flask can expect a lot of high-fives in the future.

“Excuse me, do you know what time it is?”
“No, but I can tell you which direction you’re facing!”
That’s what you’ll be saying when you’re sporting this rare 1940s wrist compass.

Spider and Eye makes these amazing hand carved stone pipes here in Chicago. What a cute valentines day gift idea for your dude (or you!). Via citiesindust.
Local artist Shawn Stucky is making wallets and currently, Dovetail is lucky to carry them exclusively! Each wallet is handprinted and painted, which means that no two are exactly alike. Shawn uses Tyvek to construct these wallets, which gives them a slim profile but keeps them super sturdy to handle everyday abuse. And they’re only $25!
Shawn will be our featured artist at Dovetail in March and April. We’re really looking forward to having his prints adorning our walls! In the meantime, we’re stoked to have his wallets here! Check them out:

Each wallet has two pockets inside for IDs/cards and two sections for bills.

Shawn is crazy talented . In a previous life, he worked as a graphic designer at an ad agency. In 2006, he accidentally made his first screen print and there was no looking back! Shawn is a prolific artist with work dispersed at galleries throughout the city and now also at Dovetail!
You might recognize his work from the cover of Franki Elliot’s book, Piano Rats.

Or you might recognize the hand-carved glasses he makes with Scott Urban of Urban Spectacles.
Or perhaps you’ve seen his fine art at Hinge Gallery.

We can’t wait to have his amazing prints in Dovetail next month!
We did a little rearranging at Dovetail this week. So if you stopped in amid our madness, you know that store was a little crazy. But it’s looking great now! And we’ve got some fresh merchandise to go with our new look! Check it out.

Big thanks to everyone who made it to our Vday Trunk Show last night! Extra special thanks to Cities in Dust Jewelry and Scarlett Gray Jewelry for making work that’s so amazing we were moved to throw a party for it! But seriously, thanks to everyone who came out to support Dovetail and the artists. We saw a lot of familiar faces in the crowd, which we love.
We’ve posted pictures on our Facebook Page—check them out when you get a chance! You’ll find a few below.
The trunk show continues through Sunday and so does our 20% off housewares and clothing sale! Stop in and see what’s new!
